Julian Loida & Charles Overton are a Boston-based vibraphone and harp duo that features their original music and influences that span jazz, global roots, ambient, R&B, and classical music. Charles and Julian first met in the New England Conservatory Big Band, but the two really only began to discover their sound as a duo after being asked to come together to develop a set for the Charles River Museum's Boiler House Jazz series. In their explorations together they have slowly uncovered quite a unique sound world in which the two instruments are able to blend and harmonize with each other in their shared resonances, while simultaneously complementing one another with the qualities that are unique to each instrument. As bandleaders and composers, each has released albums of original music with Charles' album Convergence and Julian's Wallflower. Together their refined taste and virtuosic technique allows for Julian & Charles to take their listeners on musical journeys leaving them transfixed.

Charles Overton is a Boston-based harpist and performer of classical, jazz, and world music. He began his harp studies at the age of ten, and was afforded the opportunity at an early age to perform internationally in such notable venues as Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. He performs regularly in symphonic settings with the Boston Pops, the BSO, and others, as well as appearing in jazz settings, both leading his own bands and collaborating with others.

Julian Loida is a Boston-based percussionist, composer, and producer. Loida’s musical curiosity and open-mindedness has propelled him towards a wide-range of sounds, genres, and artistic endeavors. He’s performed jazz, folk, and classical, collaborating with dancers, visual artists, songwriters/composers, and musicians of all stripes. The thirst to participate in and experience this range of sounds is partly a product of Loida’s synesthesia. Music is a full- body experience for him, with sounds often invoking involuntary sensations of color, texture, or even taste
